Protecting and preserving your data is one of the most important steps to take when it comes to caring for your computer. We offer data backup, migration, and recovery services to support you in this task.
Data Backup
We simply cannot stress enough how important data backup is! With the right backup steps, no one need lose their precious photos and documents, yet it happens all the time. It’s not a matter of if a drive will fail, but when. Also, it should be noted that a foolproof backup is the only true defense against ransomware. Best practice is to have multiple copies of your treasured files both onsite and offsite.
At the very least, everyone needs to backup to an external hard drive. That said, many people make the mistake of transferring their files and then deleting the originals! It’s not a backup if it’s the only copy! Also, do not leave an external drive connected all the time as a ransomware attack can take out any drive that is connected to the machine. We can help you look at your backup plan and offer helpful solutions, including cloud storage options. Give us a call to schedule a backup support session.
Data Migration
New computer? Need to migrate the data from your old machine over to the new one? We can help. Contact us for details.
Data Recovery
If you didn’t backup your data and find yourself needing lost data recovered, we may be able to help. If you accidentally deleted data, formatted the drive, or the drive shows signs of failure it is extremely important to stop using the drive immediately. If any new data is written to the drive, it makes recovery less likely. Even just turning the computer back on will hurt your chances of recovery. Do not attempt data recovery on your own!
We offer a sector-by-sector cloning service to prevent any further loss or damage. Once cloned, we provide analysis of the cloned drive to see if recovery is possible. If any of the drive was previously overwritten or there are problem sectors, there may be data corruption.
All data recovery jobs are on a case-by-case basis. If the drive is physically damaged (clicking sounds etc) it is beyond our scope of recovery. We work with specialists who may be able to retrieve data from physically damaged drives and will be happy to get you a quote.
Whatever your data needs, feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
